I never eat gourmet food… maybe I shouldn’t by your standards. Do you have any specific incidednt to share here?
Whenever I make something it’s always undercooked. I eat half-raw potatoes daily. Does this qualify me as a gourmet chef? That would be awesome.
Well, a lot of the gourmet or fancier restaurants I’ve been to usually serve stuff that’s raw or undercooked. I suppose that’s because they take a lot of care not to overcook the food.
I tried baking chocolate chip cookies and when I took them out, they were undercooked. When I ate them, they tasted delicious – just like the gourmet cookies I used to buy from a cookie shop when I was younger.
Oren, I think you’d make a great gourmet chef. :)
Thanks! But maybe I should hold off of opening a restaurant for now. I wouldn’t want anyone to get food poisoning from my undercooked chicken.
I’m not sure you can undercook cookies… you can eat the dough without cooking them at all, right? So I don’t know if that really counts.
That’s true. Maybe the problem was that I was over-baking my cookies…now I’ve cooked them just right. Because I suppose even after you take out the cookies from the oven, they’re still in the process of baking.
Don’t get me wrong though, I do enjoy gourmet food as long as the taste is worth the cost. I find a lot of restaurants are unable to do this at an even level. What are your thoughts on gourmet food?
